I really thought that I'd get pwned by contestants from other schools knowing that I, honestly, didn't even research much because of the nature of the topic: responsible parenthood. But really, what's my point in joining extemporaneous competitions? it's because I want to DISPROVE people. Many people really doubt my abilities. One, who is also a speaking champion, tried to downplay my championships because he believes that it was biased. He downplays the fact that I'm the only international speaker in our group. I spoke to effing 14000 people of different nationalities. I am a regional speaking champion. But that win he really used in criticizing me as he always side-comments that I wore our school uniform that's why I won. Who's he?
But can one truly say that I won because of bias? I may rant all I want about it not being biased but really, people would still think that way. I can't blame them. It was indeed true that the competition was made by an affiliate of the school where i came from. Disproving fundamentally needs proof and right now, I feel that I proved them all wrong as I won in a competition that is very neutral. All judges were from prestigious universities in Luzon and almost all top schools in the city were there. I just went in and tried again. A lot of people don't believe in me anyway. But now? I'm pretty sure they might deny and deny but nothing erases the fact that I really won in neutral grounds.
So my message is simple.
CUANDO NADIE CREE, CREA EN SE.
WHEN NO ONE BELIEVES, BELIEVE IN YOURSELF.

haha. i really thought you bordered on pidgin spanish already. but i must say you're chavacano isn't as fluent as before....
yeah..... we don't even speak chav in our own home. The street lingo is bisaya and school lingo is english and bisaya. Even my tagalog is already becoming more hideous as each day passes by.
how come your spanish remain intact? i heard my sis talk to you in spanish and then in spanglish when my sis can barely understand castillan grammar.
"remained" ron. haha. well, I read some noli and el fili in spanish (but very nosebleeding and the grammar is really ancient... hahahahaha) also I finished reading Don Quixote (at last!) and I find watching Migz's collection of spanish telenovela DVDs to be quite appealing.
lol. The only character I remember in Migz's videos is simply Tita Peluka. crazy. haha
wow. congrats!
