I'm just fresh from the apr jamboree. I spent my xmas eve there, along with my new year. It was a really interesting experience. Because for the first time in my life, I missed having Christmas and New year with my family. Instead of the usual noche buena, i ate a "premium" meal which is really just an overpriced meal that consisted of chicken, rice and some french fries. Instead of spending the new year with my family i spent the new year with another family. My scouting family. Aussies, Chinese people (hong kong), Singaporeans, DavaoeƱos, Americans, Japanese people and all the other people from various nations all around the world.
I had a pic with mayor jejomar binay as well. I even, for the first time, did a harana and it's not for a filipina, it was for a hk girl (who spent about 5 years staying in the phils). for that feat, i used a traditional chinese instrument, the er-hu, which i had to learn overnight (i play the violin though so it's not that hard learn to play another version of a fiddle overnight). I admit, my er-hu rendition it nowhere near perfect but it was in every way heartwarming (to both hk pipz and filipinos)and it served its purpose. I got the yes. hahahahha.
moving on, I also discovered the progress of people in makati. their public schools are in every way better than our private schools in cagayan de oro. They had like whole building- for 1st graders. yeah, makati may be the financial capital but let's not forget binay was the one who made it so during his multiple terms as mayor.
As you can see, this blog is plain rhetoric. why? blame blogger.com for its stint as an inactive web service. yeah. I should've blogged at about jan. 10 but look at the date; clearly, i'm late. so sorry for the incongruences and crappy paragraph constructions, this is all about imparting experiences now. not messages and moral lessons.
Ok2x.... transitioning..... at about day 4, i saved a person's life. Or i think i saved a person's life. There was this scout from davao del norte contingent who really like taking shortcuts. Camp daza, is an elevated place. The 2 entrances are either too steep or too far. So, shortcuts were made. Guess what, as i was making the rope supports for the shortcut while the others were doing camp development, I was situated on a slope in which if i slid, i'd either fall to death or slip to death (since there were no branches to hold on and only rocks can break my fall but of course, rocks are awful things to fall unto themselves) Then, there was this fat i mean, big-boned, or just overweight scout from davao del norte that attempted to climb unsupported. I yelled the traditional cebuano phrase for warning "Hawa diri yawa keo na tao ngetz" he didn't back off. He risked climbing up. As it was sandy, as he neared me, it was getting steeper and more slippery. Yeah, you guessed it. He slipped. He was such an *sshole that when I grasped his hand to save him, he even resisted and I faked letting him go. It stirred fright in him so he hurriedly took hold of the abaca rope i was holding with my other hand and we walked upwards. I didn't even get a "thank you" from him. Really ill-mannered.
I also got to know that military personnel who drove trucks that can drive through shallow bodies of water (one with the pipe up) can barely see the road due to the smoke (i mean, why's the pipe in front? it can be put in the back and still be above water) so essentially, you should stay right in jamborees that employ such trucks. I didn't and a vietnamese guy who was part of the international service team yelled "hey don't do that!" and started mumbling things in viet. Crazy but true.
Luckily, after the camp, we were given time to go around. After a day of going around with my gf, i settled once again in the makati school where we stayed. We discovered that those people wake up at dawn and go to school at about 5:30am. You're late if you went there at 6:30am. I also discovered that the best way to save on your food spendings is to eat have breakfast at minute burger, lunch at minute burger, snacks at minute burger at dinner at minute burger. For 33 pesos, you'll have a 2 humongous burgers each with 3 buns and 2 patties. Their upsized drinks cost 15 pesos and were made from purified water. Their ice chocos and coffee were for a very budget friendly 8 pesos. Being the cheapskate that I am, I ate there for breakfast, lunch and dinner, breakfast again, i took them to mall of asia and ate them there, and i just drank water from a drinking fountain. I realized that I just saved a whopping est. 1000 pesos. Minute burger, you may not fulfill my order in a minute but you sure can fill my growling digestive system. hahaha.
Going on a date with my gf was fun albeit embarrassing too. I only spent about 250 pesos for the fares since she forgot to bring Philippine money with her. But everything else from the restos to the amusement stations, she paid for it with her credit card. She slashed through the expenses and i saved nearly 4000 pesos in the process. whew. Talk about eating at big buddha then tokyo2x then krispy kreme then starbucks then going through the tekken tournament (she cheered me on! i was up until semi-finals and i now rank top 4 in the asia-pacific!) Yeah, it was really well worth buying the er-hu (which i lost on the trip back.... :( and it cost me a hefty est. 1300 pesos.... ) hahaha. But she did teach me one thing, love is not about the distance, who spends, or whatever. Love is all about choice and trust. She chose me and I chose her, we trust each other, with that, not even the distance from hk or meeting each other at least once every 3 months would hinder us. Next time though, i'll bring my debit (not credit. hehe) card so i'd spend for her. And! i won't use an er-hu. I'll use the instrument which i truly know: the violin.
To all reklamador readers, i'm sorry for the long drought and this crappy blog, but rest assured, i'll expound on each individual experience in my future blogs.

lol! hey homie, tell ken and jenny that er-hu said thanks.
sure thng. ei uhhh i was just wondering why you named her er-hu. i know its not her real name. u guys spoke in spanish (castillan so i'm not familiar at all) and you were calling her by another name.
oh. have you read my blog? i nicknamed her after the instrument i used to make her swoon... i mean, say yes. hahahaha.
wat's an er-hu like?
find it online. bsta its a chinese fiddle. kinda like a dancer's fiddle that's played like a cello
but instead of resting on the ground and being held between the knees, it's supported by the thighs. and when you stand up, its held like as if it sticks out from your groin.
LMAO!!!
yeah. found it. lol. you learned this overnight?!!
lol. you can't trust a fiddler?
fiddlers don't play all types of fiddles.
prove me wrong.
hmmmm.... you play the viola?
yeah. i played it for the school quartet when your sister went to julliard. remember? if not, check out her facebook.
SWEET ASS BRO!!! but hey, how come i can't play the viola?
dunno. i guess cellists are too used to having an instrument wiggling between their legs. hahahahahaha
hey, i think something's wrong with this site.
