i know getting sick is quiet normal amongst mortals. my only mistake was that i thought i was the exception. well, how could i think otherwise when for 29 years of my existence i never got hospitalized, until last Friday.
since i was in high school i was already a hard drinker. 5 hours of sleep is a privilege already. i smoke too, and had tried almost all the crazy stuff anyone could ever think of. to give you a picture of my lifestyle, i am a regular of E50, TILT, Silver Rain, FU and Sky Park. While I was in Cebu, i got VIP passes in Autoshop, VUDU, and Loft(well, the VIP passes are actually from my circle of friends, i just get to use them regularly). yet my blood pressure never fluctuates, 120/ 90, no allergies, no diabetes. the only major operation i had was my circumcision, yeah man, im cut. hahaha,
not only that, I always get to combine such lifestyle with work and studies. i never stop schooling and working at the same time. In fact I'm on my fifth course, taken two master's degree, done with one, and presently taking up law. beat that! haha if i were to describe my day, it starts at 5am when i plan my lessons for the day. i go to work at 7am. From 730-430 I teach, I check papers and record them on my vacant schedules. after work I play basketball with my students then rush to attend my law classes from 6 to 9pm. After which I read my law books and cases until 11pm in a coffee shop. To calm my system down after cups of coffee, i grab my few bottles of beer at any of my favorite places. my day ends at around 1am. On weekends I party hard.
yet i never got seriously sick. I got my shares of coughs and colds when everyone gets them. But i never even take medications, lots of water is enough.
and so i thought i was invinsible, until last Friday morning. that day i woke up with an upset stomach, foolowed by an excruciating pain. i vomited, and vomited, and vomitted. i started to lose all my strength. i drove to my parents' place to ask for help. they then brought to the hospital. i got stuck there til this morning.
Diagnosis: amoebiasis. my golly! it would have made sense if it was related to any of my vices. anyway, since i was already at the hospital, i asked for a full test of my blood, looking for possibilities of alcohol and smoke related deceases but all results were negative. lucky me. i'm indeed probably the exception.
i got discharged. and my headache started.
Diagnosis: Hospital Bills!!! . for just two days, the hospital took my whole month's salary. no wonder why people die on the streets and in their houses. Medical and hospital bills are just unaffordable.
lessons learned:
1. i should not wait for another sickness to rob me of whatever little fortune i set aside. no more drinking, and smoking. goodluck to me!
2. i should run for congress to make a law that should require all companies to provide medical insurance to all their employees aside from philhealth.
3. i should run for president to make sure that such law is implemented. hahaha
when you read this, you have to know that it's the drugs talking, and the shock too, hahaha. so if you get to see me in the fine places i just mentioned, that means i'm fully recovered, hahahaha
