I'm really convinced now

reeling off from hearing very unreasonable excuses from a school superior that "explained" how Magis would actually mean MOST. Why most? well, it turned out, they don't need the people who did MORE. They just had to pick someone who think did the MOST. Well, that, I have no issues with anymore since I don't hope and qualify to be top 10 but the person who got the award did. So I hope he gets to be valedictorian and all that since he really got a lift out of this.

Why did I say her excuses were unreasonable? because it basically contrasts with other people's opinion. another teacher told me EXACTLY what I should concentrate upon. She told me about her daughter and husband having the same situation as I did. Doing more and getting worse. She gave me a copy of her daughter's very inspiring article about her (her daughter's) father. She told me about her daughter going "back to zero" by getting a D on her literary composition in college in contrast to the praises she got from her high school superiors. She told me that not all teachers are perfect. It convinced me that the argument is senseless because it's a case of he said, she said. In my argument with the other teacher, I felt the need to present evidences. What I did? i tried to call the awardee himself as he passed by us. What she did? she fended him off. She's a superior. What can I do? I, as every student would always do, I had to succumb. So bitterly, case closed. I still had to serve my last days as president anyways.

Now, going back to the kind teacher I was talking about, the article she gave me, it was really inspiring. Why? it's because I saw the real meaning and importance of accounting as I am a person who is really, really cranky when it comes to doing stuff I don't know what the purpose is about (like having a hard time with parabolas, hyperbolas and the like while kinda doing well in probability and combinatronics which are still, basically math). Accounting is my course in college not because I really want to. It's not just because it needs hard working people (which I hope will correct my lax nature) or it's because of having both parents and several family members on the profession, it's basically because I want a decent pre-law with a plausible and non-tiring way to get a scholarship on. To avoid long bouts of interviews, figuring our financial status and going over my card, I just had to find a way to get one that would not require extensive preparations and would give me a scholarship no questions asked. I joined a competition, by the grace of God I won. So maybe it was really my calling in life. But the problem is,basically, the win is credited to my speaking skills and not because of my accounting knowledge (it wasn't a quiz bowl). As a result I really wasn't convinced that its what is really meant for me. My interest isn't really that deep. I just chose it because I need it. But with this inspiring article about the life of an accountant, I realized that while doctors save lives, lawyers defend and give justice to people, policemen ensure order and security. Accountants? they are like doctors since they restore establishments and people's lives by ensuring financial health. Like lawyers, they can defend and give justice to people by really sorting out who pays, who didn't and getting to the root of the problem. Like policemen, they ensure order and security (financial security that is) by making up financial plans.

With this new inspiration, I really, really hope things would be better.
(besides, the person being praised in the article placed 16th in the CPA board. my class number, long test number in physics, seat number the last time I watched a movie in a theater, is 16). Talk about fate.

hey ad3. glad to know that you're back on track after your recent blogs. seems like i've been missing a lot from not updating myself with new posts in rekla.

anyway, MAGIS stems not from an award, but from a willing heart, but moreover a person whose amount and quality of service knows no bounds. furthermore, in the real world, i don't think they'll be asking for the awards always, rather, they call on (or expect) the character and personality that drove one to do such excellent deeds.

regarding being an accountant, your view's like no other i suppose. you've seen and put the role of an accountant beyond its usual one, and to stress it once more: you've mentioned how an accountant acts in his/her own magis way. seeing as your inspired already, i guess you're already on your way to being one.

more power to your blogs!
