"uie, Boy Scout"? My arse.

Boy Scout. With that, what comes into your mind?

For ignorant people, it's synonymous to good guys who do people favors.

For real Scouts like me, it's synonymous to people who like having fun, going outdoors, and does what is necessary.

However, a looming number of the population belongs to the ignorant group of people. I can't blame them. I can't blame them for thinking that way. But addressing us as "uie, Boy scout?" THAT CROSSES THE LINE. What is weird was that in our class, most belong to a service club that is so elite that they have to pass a so-so "stringent" process. Right now, I believe that it isn't so stringent since RUDE people get to be in their so-so "elite" club. I'm not generalizing but here are the situations in the past that I just have be passive about:

1. Every time someone faints, these so-so service people would like to show their "abilities" by performing a so-so "first aid" while they shout at me, the Boy Scout, to fetch a wheel chair. They were so frantic that I can't debate with them. Formal Extemporaneous is no match to bitchly screechings.

2. Every time they need me to help them with something, they just effing shout out "uie, Boy Scout! tabang beh". It just occurred to me. Kagay-anons have "Palihug" same way Chavacanos have "por favor". But do they use the word? I don't think so. "uie Boy Scout", to them, sounds ok. But, sounding ok DOES NOT MAKE IT LESS RUDE AND DEMEANING.

3. Just this morning as a so-so member of the so-so "service" club made me collect something without a "please". She just ordered me to. I asked her on what grounds is her request made. The grounds? that I'm a boy scout. What does she call herself? Scoutmaster? that she has the ability to order me and not to ask for a request politely? Bullsh*t right?

In conclusion, no matter who are you addressing, whether you look down on them or not, MAKE SURE YOU ADDRESS THEM POLITELY. Insensitivity and ignorance doesn't have a fine line when it comes to them being as the basis for such rudeness.
